Abstract

1330673 Saccharification of starch HAYASHIBARA CO 22 Sept 1970 [22 Sept 1969] 45140/70 Heading C2C Starch is saccharified to form glucose or maltose by liquefying at 130-170‹ C., treating the resulting starch solution, with at least one saccharifying amylase, to give a hydrolysate having a D.E. of at least 95 when it comprises glucose or at least 55 when it comprises maltose, and adding α-amylase, at or after the mid-point of the saccharification period, to give a product which does not form a stain, with iodine.
