Abstract
1329995 Optical gas analysers COMMERCIAL ELECTRONICS Inc 17 Sept 1970 [17 Sept 1969] 44517/70 Heading G2J [Also in Division G1] Optical gas analysing apparatus, comprising a gas flow chamber 12 disposed in a housing 6 and having an inlet 14 and outlets 16, the chamber 12 including a pair of spaced walls 26 having aligned openings 38 defining an optical path through the chamber with optical gas analysing means 40, 42 disposed adjacent the openings, is provided with passages 48 and means for passing an uncontaminated fluid along there passages across openings 38 to prevent contact between a gas sample and the analysing means. The analysing means comprises a light source 37 (which may be infrared, ultra-violet or visible) and a detector 44 having a filter 45 to remove unwanted radiation. The passages 48 have cutouts to enable the light to pass through and there cut-outs may be left open or have a transparent window 60. The flow rates of gas and fluid are preferably the same.
