Abstract

1329617 Fluid pressure servomotor systems AISIN SEIKI K K 7 Oct 1970 [7 Oct 1969] 47717/70 Heading G3P [Also in Division F2] A speed governor comprises a rotatable shaft 11, a main governor body fixedly mounted on the shaft 11, a valve member moving under centrifugal force to connect an inlet 25 with either of two outlets 31, 32 or drain 42, the outlets communicating with one side of a stepped piston 33, with source fluid acting on the other and being regulated through a bore 41 such that the outlet pressure signal at 40 is dependent on the speed of rotation of the shaft, Fig. 3 (not shown). In operation, the valve spool 13 moves out under centrifugal force to connect successive lands a, b, c, of the stepped piston 33 with the source of fluid 28, the largest land 57 closing off the bore 41 and so increasing the output signal at 40, Fig. 3 (not shown). The output pressure can be made to decrease with increasing shaft revolutions, Figs. 4, 5 (not shown). In an alternative embodiment two unequally weighted pistons (243, 244), Fig. 6 (not shown) move to cover and uncover ports (247, 248). The servomotors (233, 254) move to produce the output at (240) illustrated a by Figs. 8, 9 (not shown). In the embodiment of Fig.10 (not shown) the valve member (313) moves in response to fluid forced radially by centrifugal force, and the embodiment of Fig.11 (not shown) is similar but with weights operating the valve member.
