1329356 Copy-milling FRIEDRICH DECKEL PRAZISIONS MECHANIK & MASCHINENBAU 20 Sept 1971 [25 Sept 1970] 43828/70 Heading B3K A method of copying, in which a pattern 11 is traced by a stylus 31 of elliptical cross-section and/or an elliptical tip in the form of a semiellipsoid of revolution, the dimension of the major and minor axes of the ellipse which determines the cross-section nx, ny, and/or form of the tip corresponding to the product of the diameter d of the tool 41, and the inverse value of the transmission ratio between the tool and stylus along each axis in the probing direction. Tool 41 is a milling tool which operates on a workpiece 21. Styli of elliptical cross-sections and/or elliptical tip are described with reference to Figs. 3-7 (not shown).
