Abstract
1329302 Eddy current flow detectors NIPPON KOKAN K K 16 Sept 1970 44332/70 Heading G1N Automatic calibration of an eddy current flow detector is provided by automatically adjusting the gain of an amplifier 3 located in the circuit path between a detecting coil arrangement 1, e.g. a bridge, and a recorder 61. When a test flaw is caused to influence the arrangement 1, the pulse produced is gated by a gate 65 under control of a circuit 66, Fig. 3 (not shown), and is analysed in a pulse-height analyser 62 which then provides an appropriate output of one of its many channels. The gain of amplifier 3 is controlled by the output via a voltage-dividing circuit 63 and an OR gate each having the same number of channels as the analyser 62.
