Abstract

1329095 Punching L G HUDSON 17 Aug 1971 [21 Aug 1970] 40393/70 Heading B3W A slot is formed in a tube (not shown), which has been drawn on to a die 4, by means of a punch 1 in co-operation with a die opening 5. The tube material is severed by the leading end of the punch and a tongue of material is bent back at each end of the slot by the following punch portions. The die may be mounted on a bar connected to the punch carrying machine and may have a plurality of die openings for co-operation with a corresponding number of punches.
