Abstract

1329087 Clamps FLEXTUBE Ltd 3 Sept 1970 [5 Sept 1969] 44156/69 Heading E2B [Also in Division F2] A clamp for clamping a hose end (not shown) onto a spigot (not shown) comprises two shells 2 and 4, each formed with two differently shaped concave recesses 12 and 14, in which are located inserts 16, so that the hose wall is prevented from extruding between the two shells when bolts 6 are tightened. Self adhesive tape may be used to retain the inserts within their recesses when assembling the two shells about the hose. Alternatively, an insert is pivotally mounted within one of the two recesses of each shell. The axial dimension of each insert is less than that of the shells, and the inserts do not extend up to either end of the shells. The inner surface of each insert is formed with teeth, Figs. 1 and 4 (not shown), spaced along the length of the insert.
