1328971 Electric couplings A F BULGIN & CO Ltd 19 April 1971 [16 Feb 1970] 7324/70 Heading H2E A multi-connector screw terminal block 1 comprises an insulating block 2 having a series of T cross-section slots 3 formed in it which receive connector members 4B. A nut 16 is located in the cross member of the T and is positioned beneath a hole in the top of the block so as to be threadingly engaged by a clamping screw 17, the outer cross-sectional width of the nut being equal to the width of the T cross member so that the nut is held in the slot. The connector member comprises a U- shaped channel 8 of which the base projects beyond the walled region to form a soldering tag 10. The connector member is slid into the upright T portion such that the upper edges of the lower height channel wall portions slide under the nut until the vertical edges of the extended height wall portions abut the side of the nut, the soldering tag passing through a slit in the other side of the block (Fig. 2, not shown). The soldering tag has incisions 15 for facilitating bending of the tag into the desired plane. Two sets of incisions may be provided such that a bend can be put in the tag so as to hold the connector member in the block and yet enable the soldering tag to project horizontally from the block (Figs. 3 and 4, not shown). Such a connector may be used in conjunction with a printed circuit (Fig. 2, not shown) to enable conductors, such as mains leads, to be removably connected to the circuit.
