1328712 Clutch-brake combinations; friction clutch; full-face disc brakes MASCHINENFABRIK STROMAG GmbH 29 June 1971 30430/71 Headings F2C F2E and F2L A clutch-brake combination has a clutchbraking element (with clutch friction linings 8 and brake friction lining 9) urged by springs 10 into engagement with a fixed brake member 13, 14 and a piston and cylinder 3, 4, which, on the introduction of a fluid (oil or air) through a passage 5 serves to engage the clutch and disengage the brake, the cylinder 4 being axially movable and embracing the outer periphery of the clutch/braking element as shown. The piston 3 is axially fixed and acts as a counter-abutment when the clutch is engaged. The clutch/braking element is axially movable with respect to a hub 7 to which it is connected by a diaphragm 12b, a diaphragm spring 6 connecting the cylinder 4 to the driving clutch member, which member is supported on bearings 2. To compensate for brake lining wear a member 14 is axially movable by screw means. The device may be incorporated in a press. The screw 14 provides adjustment for wear.
