Abstract

1327803 Collapsible tubes JOHN DALE Ltd 19 Aug 1971 [27 Aug 1970] 41333/70 Heading B8D [Also in Division B3] A collapsible tube of frusto-conical shape to enable resting of such tubes prior to filling is further expanded at its open end 20 to prevent marking of the enamelled exterior surface of a nested like tube by the edge of said end. The inclination of the tube wall to the tube axis is in the range 45' to 1‹30' and the inclination of the enlarged portion is 1 degree greater than the inclination of the tube wall. The tube is formed by frusto-conically shaping a cylindrical tube, decorating the exterior surface of the formed tube, and thereafter expanding the open end. The open end may be expanded using a mandrel described in Specification 1,291,839 or a solid mandrel.
