Abstract
1327700 Power tools INGERSOLL-RAND CO 24 Sept 1971 [29 Sept 19701 44707/71 Heading B3N A fluid driven power tool includes a casing 1, a motor 11, an inlet passage 4, an exhaust passage 16 and a fluid-actuated valve 21 located in the inlet passage and movable between an open and a closed position, a spring 32 biases the valve to an open position and the left hand end (as illustrated) and the right hand end are subject to fluid pressure from the inlet and exhaust passages respectively so that in response to drop in fluid pressure in the exhaust passage when said motor slows down, the valve moves to a closed position. Flow of fluid to chamber 26 at the left hand end of valve 21 is via passage 27 and between the valve and the bore 20 in sleeve 18. The flow to chamber 31 is via passage 33. When the valve is opened passage 38 is connected to inlet passage 4 which causes a signal to be produced. When the valve is closed passage 38 is vented along passage 37. The tension on the spring is adjustable by plug 30.
