1327639 Making combustible gas LUMMUS CO 1 Oct 1971 [1 Oct 1970] 45803/71 Addition to 1270071 Heading C5E Combustible gas containing H 2 and CO in total concentration of at least 80 mol. per cent is made by a catalytic process similar to that described in the parent Specification, except that CO 2 may wholly or partly replace steam as oxidizing gas, and the oxidizing gas to carbon mole ratio in the first zone is at least 1.6 : 1 (but less than 2.0 :1 if steam is used alone). Total oxidizing gas to total carbon mole ratio over all the stages is less than 2.0 : 1, and some of the steam and/or CO 2 may be delivered directly to the second and later stages.
