Abstract
132,725. Croll, J. T. March 24, 1919. Combining sheet material.-A machine is employed for making corrugated cardboard and like sheets, in which the material is passed between corrugated rollers which do not actually touch each other, but which are driven the one from the other by spur or like gearing, and is then secured to a plain backing. The cardboard is led from a roll i around a grooved roller band then around a second grooved roller c. By means of a pLain roller d, which dips into a bath of glue or other adhesive, the ridges become coated on their under surface with adhesive. The coated cardboard then passes to a fixing roller e above a plain layer of cardboard which has been delivered from a roll j and passed around a guide roller f. The combined material finally passes to the receiving roll k. The rollers b, c are not in contact with one another, the roller b being driven by spur gearing h from the driven shaft of the roller c.
