Abstract

1327119 Tile-cutting guide JOHN M PERKINS & SMITH Ltd 14 April 1972 [6 Aug 1971] 37117/71 Heading B4X A tile-cutting guide comprises two parallel spaced and stiff clamping rods 1, 2, which are joined at their ends to define a loop which embraces the tile 11, the spacing of the rods being greater than the thickness of the tile so that with the rods held in clamping contact with the upper and under faces 12, 13 of the tile, the axes 8, 9 of the rods lie in a plane 14 which is oblique to the tile face. The spacing of the rods is preferably arranged so that a tile cutter bearing against the edge of the rod 1 scores the tile surface directly above the rod 2. An offset handle 3, 5 is provided and the device is used to clamp the scored tile when it is broken, this being effected by tapping the raised end above the table 10.
