1326999 N - Alkyl - 3 - (methylsulphamoyl)- benzamides PARKE DAVIS & CO 2 July 1971 [6 July 1970] 31198/71 Heading C2C Novel compounds (I) (including salts thereof) where R 1 is H or Me, R 2 is C 2 to C 4 alkyl and X is Br, Me, MeO, EtO or MeS, are made by interacting reactivederivatives of compounds(II), e.g. acid chlorides, and (R 1 )(R 2 ).C(Me)(NH 2 ). The free acids (II) and compounds (V) are also prepared. Pharmaceutical preparations showing antiviral activity and especially active against strains of rhinovirus, contain (I) as active ingredient.
