Abstract

1326546 Therapeutic apparatus MATSUSHITA DENKO KK and N FUJII 1 Sept 1970 [31 Aug 1969] 41870/70 Heading A5R Therapeutic apparatus comprises a source 1 of potential which is negative relative to "earth" and is connected to a single electrode 2 only for contacting an animal or human body, the electrode being in the form of a permanent magnet with a body-contacting surface entirely of one magnetic polarity and an opposed surface of entirely the opposite magnetic polarity. The electrode 2 may be for contacting a localised region of the body and may be in the shape of a flat disc. Alternatively, the electrode 2 may be large enough for a patient to lie on, a second permanent magnet 5 which is electrically isolated from electrode 2 being suspended over and spaced from the patient. The magnetic field caused by the electrode 2 (or electrodes 2 and ) is stated to disperse charged particles tending to accumulate in the region occupied by the patient. Potentials of about 300V and flux densities of about 350 to 850 gauze may be used.
