1326183 Circuit testing using correlation D SAXTON 6 Jan 1972 [ 6 Jan 1971 18 Oct 1971] 551/71 and 48352/71 Heading G1U An arrangement of two identical pseudorandom number generators 12, 13 fed by clock pulses 14 via dividers 15, 16, is characterized in that additional shift pulses can be applied to the upper generator 12, via a gate 17, whereby the phase of the pulse train produced by that generator advances by an increment of 1/N with respect to that produced by the other. The arrangement is particularly useful in testing a network 11, since by applying shift pulses appropriately, and by multiplying 18 and integrating 19 the output from the network 11 and that from the other generator 13,. the cross-correlation function of the two outputs can be obtained.
