Abstract

1326144 Condensation polymers obtained from anthracene DYNAMIT NOBEL AG 19 Aug 1971 [22 Aug 1970] 39065/71 Heading C3R Polymers containing units of formula where Ar is a divalent aromatic radical, are obtained by condensing anthracene with one or more aromatic dicarboxylic acid chlorides, either in an organic solvent or as a melt, at 100‹ to 250‹ C. and in the absence of a catalyst. In examples polymers are obtained by reacting anthracene with isophthalyl chloride and with terephthalyl chloride.
