Abstract

1325823 Automatic control of fluid plastics NATIONAL DISTILLERS & CHEMICAL CORP 19 April 1971 [20 Feb 1970] 24360/71 Heading G3R [Also in Division G1] The composition of a copolymer, composed of monomers with different di-electric constants, is measured by a capacitance probe placed at a point in the fluid stream where the temperature, pressure and state of the product is substantially constant e.g. at the outlet of the grader unit. The signal from the probe may be used to control the monomer feed. Copolymers are listed, particularly those of styrene, ethylene, propylene and n-butane with alkyl and vinyl esters of formic acetic, chloracetic, phenyl acetic, propionic and isobutyric acids.
