Abstract

1325521 Disazo dyes FARBWERKE HOECHST AG 13 Jan 1971 [16 Jan 1970] 1713/71 Heading C4P The invention comprises water-soluble disazo dyestuffs having the general formula wherein D is the radical of a diazo component of the benzene or naphthalene series; R is a hydrogen atom or an alkyl or aryl group; X is a group of the formula or a group wherein R<SP>1</SP> is hydrogen or alkyl ; R<SP>11</SP> is hydrogen, alkyl, or phenyl; Y and Y<SP>1</SP> each represents fluorine or chlorine and n is 0 or 1. The dyes may be obtained by diazotization and coupling, e.g. a diazo compound of formula may be coupled with a monoazo compound of formula or a diazo compound of formula may be coupled with a monoazo compound of formula Alternatively an aminodisazo dyestuff may be acylated with N + 1 mole of the desired cyclobutylacrylic acid chloride at 0-80‹ C. in the presence of an acid binding agent. The dyes give blue shades on nitrogen-containing and cellulose fibre materials. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 1,245,127.
