1325288 Feeding sheets PENTACON DRESDEN KAMERAUND KINOWERKE VEB 29 Feb 1972 9233/72 Heading B8R Sheets are fed in direction A, Fig. 1, on to an aligning plate 1, where they are registered by aligning stops 2, 3 which engage the sheets at opposite corners thereof, each stop engaging adjacent edges of the sheet. The stop 2 is pivoted at 5 and the stop 3 is slidable in guides 4, the stops being connected through coupling springs 21, 20 to respective cranks 17, 19 on a shaft 22 driven by a motor M. In the rest positions 2<SP>1</SP>, 3<SP>1</SP> of the stops, the motor M is started by a switch 24 to rotate the cranks. The stop 2 first engages the sheet and then engages the plate 1, whereupon the stop 3 advances and pushes the sheet against the stop 2, which yields as the spring 21 is weaker than the spring 20. The stops then return to rest position, when a cam 27 on the crank 19 opens a switch 25 to stop the motor, and the aligned sheet is fed in direction B. In another form, Fig. 5a, the stops 28, 29 are mounted on a common pivot 30 and operated by a crank 33 carrying a switch cam 34 through rods 31, 32 and springs. The device can also be used for aligning a plurality of sheets into a stack.
