1325170 Dithiophosphorylated 1,2,4-thiadiazole derivatives SHELL INTERNATIONALE RESEARCH MAATSCHAPPIJ NV 2 Nov 1971 [4 Nov 1970] 52504/70 Heading C2P Novel compounds of the general formula (R 1 O)(R 2 O)P(S)SAZ wherein R 1 and R 2 are each alkyl, A is an optionally alkyl- or arylsubstituted alkylene group and Z is an optionally substituted 1,2,4-thiadiazole ring linked to A through the 3- or 5-position are obtained by reacting a compound Hal-A-Z where Hal is halogen, e.g. Cl or Br, with an alkali metal salt of an acid ester of formula (R 1 O)(R 2 O)P(S)SH. The reaction is preferably carried out in an organic solvent, e.g. a ketone. The substituents on the thiadazole ring may for example be halogen, alkyl, alkoxy, alkylthio, dialkylamino or aryl. The products have pesticidal properties especially against inserts and arachnids and may be used as active ingredients in conventional pesticidal compositions.
