Abstract

1325157 Metallized fibre reactive monoazo dyes CIBA GEIGY AG 10 July 1970 [11 July 1969] 33648/70 Heading C4P The invention comprises fibre reactive metallized monoazo dyes of formula where R is H or C 1 -C 4 alkyl; Py is a pyrimidyl radical containing at least one reactive halogen atom; the radical -NRCO-Py is in the 2- or 3-position of ring A and the ring A may also be substituted by a sulphonic acid group. The dyes may be prepared by metallizing the corresponding o,o<SP>1</SP>-dihydroxy monoazo compound with an agent introducing copper or by metallizing a monoazo compound of formula where X is H, halogen or C 1 -C 4 alkoxy, optionally in the presence of an oxidizing agent. Alternatively, a dyestuff of formula is reacted with a pyrimidine carboxylic acid halide. The dyes give red shades on natural and regenerated cellulose and natural and synthetic polyamide textile materials. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 1,051,684
