Abstract

1324543 Photoconductive compositions FUJI PHOTO FILM CO Ltd 2 Nov 1970 [4 Nov 1969] 51950/70 Heading H1K [Also in Division C4] Photoconductive compositions comprise an insulating resinous binder and a photoconductive dye of formula wherein R 1 is H, halogen, alkyl, alkoxy, carbonyl alkoxy or nitro and R 2 is H, halogen, OH, alkoxy, amino, mono- or di-alkyl amino or nitro and is duplicable at the 2 and 4 position; and said alkyl groups or alkyl portions of said groups having 1-4 C. Specified binders are styrene / butadiene copolymer, polystyrene, chlorinated rubber, polyvinyl chloride, vinyl chloride/vinyl acetate copolymer, polyvinylidene chloride, nitrocellulose, polyvinyl acetate, polyvinyl acetal, polyvinyl ether, silicone resin, acrylic resin methacrylic resin, phenolic resin, alkyd resin and urea-formaldehyde resin. The composition may include a plasticizer, e.g. bisphenyl chloride, chlorinated paraffin, a phosphate or a phthalate, and a sensitizer, e.g. tetracyano ethylene, tetracyanoquino dimethane, chloranil, bromanil, naphthoquinone, anthraquinone, methylene blue, crystal violet or malachite green. The composition is coated on a metal, paper or plastic conductive support.
