Abstract

1322809 Liquid crystal emulsions F HOFFMANN-LA ROCHE & CO AG 7 Dec 1970 [15 Dec 1969] 57934/70 Heading B1V [Also in Divisions C4 and H4] An aqueous emulsion of a cholesteric liquid crystalline material, optionally a dyestuff, and an antioxidant in the oil phase and a filmforming polymer in the aqueous phase is used for foaming themographic patterns on the human -body or in metallic parts of airplanes. Plasticisers may be included and the film can be formed on a support such as paper or cellulose acetate which can then be waterproofed. Numerous examples are given of all the constituents.
