Abstract

1322305 Colour television tubes TOKYO SHIBAURA ELECTRIC CO Ltd 20 March 1972 [20 March 1971] 12875/72 Heading H1D An adjustable magnetic convergence device is formed by a pair of units 10, the non- magnetic frames 12 of which are mounted on a non- magnetic plate 3 by means of screws 11, Fig. 2, which pass through arcuate slits 8 in the plate and are secured at the other side to arcuate racks 9 which are movable along the slits by means of pinions 23 and wheels 26, to adjust the position of the units. Each convergence unit includes dynamic convergence coils 15 wound on an E-shaped core 14 together with discshaped permanent magnets 16, and plate 3 is secured, by a clamp 6, 7, engaged around split portions 5 of the plate, to the neck of an in-line colour television tube, the centre beam 19 of which is shielded from the convergence fields acting on the side beams 18 and 20 by magnetic shield plates 21 and 22.
