Abstract

1322084 Pressurized dispensing containers L'OREAL 19 April 1971 [20 March 1970 20 April 1970] 24565/71 Heading F1R [Also in Divisions B3 and C4] A method of making an aerosol container for dispensing a corrosive liquid includes drawing a metal blank to form a unitary container shell and subsequently applying to the shell varnish resistant to the liquid the quantity of varnish applied being 30-60 mg/cm<SP>2</SP> of the surface covered. An outer jacket 1 is drawn from an aluminium blank, which has been tumbled in a drum to remove impurities and then tumbled in zinc stearate. Shaping is performed in several passes to make the part 3 conical and then it is shaped to provide a crimp 4. The can is varnished internally in a plurality of passes and then varnished externally. A cylindrical container 2 is drawn from an aluminium blank and is provided at its upper end with a threaded portion 8 having a bore 12. The upper end of the portion 8 is held in clip jaws (13) Fig.3 (not shown) and sprayed internally and externally with varnish by a spray gun (14), in a plurality of passes. The container 2 is filled with an oxidizing composition 15, after which its open end is sealed and then is screwed into a connecting element integral with the valve 6. The outer jacket 1 is filled with a hair dyeing or bleaching composition and a cup 5 carrying the valve 6 and container 2 crimped in position. The propellant is then introduced into the jacket 1 through the valve 6.
