Abstract

1321784 Hand-operated slicing apparatus K ZYSSET & CO A G 17 Feb 1972 [1 March 1971] 7384/72 Heading A4C [Also in Division B4] A hand-operated slicing apparatus comprises a flexible cutting blade mounted in a support member 1, a guide member 2 having a contact surface 8 for sliding over the surface of the material, the guide member being adjustably mounted on the support member by means of pinions 9a on a shaft 9 engaging with racks 2d thereby enabling the spacing between the blade and the contact surface 8 to be varied. The support member which, together with the guide member, may be moulded from plastics material, is formed with portions 1a, 1b between which the blade is tensioned by means of an adjusting rut 7. The guide member 2 is provided with webs 2a adapted to slide in grooves if formed in the support member. The shaft 9 is rotatable by a handwheel 13 provided with knurling 13 and graduations 14 for co-operation with an index line 15. The guide member is held in its various settings by means of spring-loaded pawls 11, Fig.3, engaging recesses 10 formed in the guide member.
