1321592 3,5-disubstituted-2,4,6-triiodobenzoic acid halides NYEGAARD & CO AS 23 June 1970 [27 June 1969 9 Feb 1970] 2638/73 and 2639/73 Heading C2C Novel acid halides of the Formula (I) where R<SP>3</SP> is acylamido, optionally carrying an N-acyl, N-alkyl, N-hydroxyalkyl or N-(protected-hydroxyalkyl) substituent; R<SP>4</SP> is an amino, acylamido (optionally carrying an N- acyl, N-hydroxy alkyl or N-(protected-hydroxyalkyl) substituent), a carbamoyl (optionally carrying an N-alkyl, N-hydroxyalkyl or N- (protected-hydroxyalkyl) substituent), an acylamidomethyl or a -COX group, and X is a halogen atom, may be obtained by reacting a corresponding carboxylic acid (in which both R<SP>3</SP> and R<SP>4</SP> may also be amino groups) with a halogenating agent (e.g. thionyl chloride or bromide or phosphorus pentachloride or pentabromide), followed, if necessary, by acylation
