Abstract
1321463 Preparation of phthalazone PRODUITS CHIMIQUES PECHINEY-SAINT-GOBAIN 21 Sept 1970 [24 Sept 1969] 44799/70 Heading C2C Phthalazone is obtained by boiling for from 0À5 to 4 hours a mixture of acetoxy-3 phthalide and an aqueous solution of hydrazine hydrate and separating the phthalazone formed from the mixture. The molar ratio of acetoxy-3 phthalide to hydrazine hydrate (which is advantageously employed as a 95% by wt. aqueous solution) in the mixture preferably ranges from 1 : 1 to 1 : 2.
