1321330 Printing orders for film strips AGFA-GEVAERT AG 1 Oct 1971 [2 Oct 1970] 45826/71 Heading G2C Long strips of negatives are cut into suitable lengths, and strips of prints are cut into individual prints, the negatives and prints then being assembled together and packed into a wallet, the complete operation being co-ordinated by a control means. The operations are carried out on a work table 1 and controlled by an operator on a seat 2. The prints come in the form of a roll, which is unwound by a device 9 and fed to a cutting apparatus 8. This operates in accordance with scannable marks on the reverse side, and after a start pulse, continues to cut the roll into individual prints until a further mark is sensed, which stops the cutting device. A sorting device 10 then sorts the prints into satisfactory and unsatisfactory pictures on the basis of further marks. The poor pictures can be reprinted using different correction values. The negatives, which have been secured together to form a single long strip, are now cut up into lengths suitable for packing by a cutter 3, the cutter being controlled by edge notches or perforations in the film. The cut film strips are discharged and stacked at a station 4 and inserted into wallets from a magazine 5. The film strips from the left hand end of the table and the cut prints from the right hand end are now brought together and placed in an order wallet supplied from a magazine 6. The wallet is now passed through a slot 7 to a stamping machine below the table. Various data or information may have been stamped previously on the wallet, which is read automatically at slot 7 and passed to a computer. Other data regarding, for example, date, price, size, and so on can be fed to the computer by means of a keyboard 11, and can then be stamped on to the wallet.
