Abstract

1321294 Rivets; pipe couplings SANTON Ltd 15 Sept 1971 [4 Sept 1970] 42537/70 Headings F2G and F2H [Also in Division H5] The tube of a U-shaped heating element 1 of an electric immersion heater is secured sealingly to the heater head 2 by a fitting (Fig. 1). The sleeve portion 11 (Fig. 2) is deformed inwardly about the element 1 and the soft metal olive 13 to give a fluid tight fit, the sleeve 8 being passed through a hole 3 in the head and deformed radially outwardly to grip the head against the flange portion 9. A sealing ring 14 of rubber or plastics material is held between the flange and the recessed portion 5 of the head.
