Abstract

1321259 Strain relief clamps GLENAIR Inc 12 Aug 1970 [22 Sept 1969] 38856/70 Heading H2E A clamp 15 for securing a bundle 12 of wires at an angle relative to a connector 10 comprises a collar 20 screwed or otherwise connected to the connector and a wire bundle guide 30 secured to the collar by a means which prevents axial movement but permits rotational movement of the guide relative to the collar. The guide comprises a tubular portion 31 and an arm 32 of curved transverse cross-section extending therefrom at the angle at which the wire bundle approaches the connector and terminating in an arcuate member 33 for holding the wire bundle 12, which is attached to the arm by a binder 41. The collar 20 and a tubular portion 31 of the guide each have a groove 36, 37 respectively in which a ring 38 is engaged to secure the guide and collar together. The guide may be releasably locked in a fixed position relative to the collar by a set screw 47 in the collar engaging the tubular portion 31 or by complementary serrations provided on the connector and guide.
