1320593 Ball ejecting device M E PEEPLES 28 Sept 1971 45130/71 Heading A6D A ball ejecting device comprises a casing 12 enclosing a electro-magnetic coil 132 supplied by batteries 90, an ejector element 252 and an actuating switch 240. In use a golf ball 248 putted into the casing (which is sunk into the ground) is guided by ring 244 to engage ring 218 so as to tilt the latter and operate micro-switch 240. This closes the circuit of the coil and the ejector 252 moves as a solenoid to eject the ball in random fashion for a further putting stroke. The ejector 252 has an angled top and means to rotate it in its vertical movement to produce the random ejection of the ball. Once the ball is ejected ring 218 returns to its original position, switch 240 is opened and the ejector drops to its lower position. Means are also provided for limiting the upward movement of the ejector. A closure member (Fig. 3, not shown) which can be locked into the open end of casing 12 by a suitable key may be provided. Such closure means &c incorporates a sealing ring and may have an indicating flag attached to it. The device may include connections for charging the batteries or arranged so that it can be lifted out of the hole and taken away for recharging. The device can be used for practice putting or in a game simulating golf by more than one player. (For Figure see next column)
