Abstract

1320496 Load handling; collapsible containers AIRFLEX CONTAINERS Ltd 11 June 1970 [25 June 1969] 32156/69 Headings B8D and B8H Goods to be handled are placed on the base 10 of a flexible or partly flexible air-tight bag which is then closed by fastening together top and side flaps 11a, 11 with slide fasteners 12. The bag is then partially evacuated through a valve 16 so that the bag collapses to grip the goods and form a compact and firm package. Webbing slings 14 attached to the base 10 meet at a lifting eye 15. Inflatable feet 17 hold the base 10 off the ground for inse t on of the forks of a lift truck (not shown). The bag may have an outer skin arranged for inflation to provide increased grip on the goods and additional buoyancy.
