As shown the arm 34 is pivoted at 36 and may be held by a catch 50 against the tension in a rubber band 40. In this latched position of the arm 34 (Fig. 3), a saucer 14 is free to fall from a magazine 83 to a position behind the arm, where it is held by a catch 58. Depressing a trigger 56 disengages catches 50, 58 and the arm propels the saucer along the track, corrugated surfaces 64, 70 ensuring that rotation is also imparted. Instead of corrugations,. high friction materials may be provided at surfaces 64, 70. The lower edge of corrugated surface 70 is non-corrugated and projects outwardly beyond the corrugations to prevent the latter engaging the rails 30, (32). A funnel 24, leading to the magazine 83, is provided for catching flying saucers. A part 74 of the track is lower than the rails 30 (32), so that objects having a transverse dimension appreciably less than the saucer will be passed over by the arm 34 if an attempt is made to project them. A semi-cylindrical target, for reversing the direction of motion of a flying saucer, is disclosed, Fig. 1 (not shown).
