A catch device for securing two relatively movable parts 10, 20 together comprises an attachment member 30 adapted to be secured to one of said parts and having pivoted thereto a catch member 38 adapted to engage an abutment 28 adapted to be mounted on the other of said parts, the pivoted catch member being formed with an abutment engaging cam edge 44 relative to the pivot axis of the said catch member so that one end of the cam edge is nearer to the pivot axis than the other end of said cam edge which is provided with a plurality of abutment engaging portions 46 spaced apart along said cam edge and adapted to engage said abutment successively as the catch member pivots through successive angular positions to successively draw the parts relatively towards each other during pivotal movement in one direction of the catch member so that an appropriate abutment engaging portion can engage the abutment to hold the two relatively movable parts together, and permits the parts relatively to move away from each other during pivotal movement of the catch member in the reverse direction. In the construction shown the abutment is a peg extending from a further attachment member 22. The cam edge 44 is one edge of a slot 41 in the catch member and the catch member can have a further slot which can receive the peg to hold the parts slightly separated. As described the part 10 is a fixed window frame and the part 20 is a hinged window frame and a resilient sealing strip is provided between them which is compressed when the window is closed. The plurality of abutment engaging portions allow for inaccuracies in the manufacture of the two frames, the appropriate abutment engaging portion for the thickness of the frames engages the peg in the closed position of the two frames.
