Abstract

1319515 Hydrodesulphurisation catalysts AZOTE ET PRODUITS CHIMIQUES SA 4 June 1970 [7 July 1969] 27065/70 Heading B1E [Also in Divisions C1 and C5] Catalysts comprise a base of ZnO and MgO or Mg(OH) 2 , with Cu or Co molybdate or tungstate, the weight ratio of ZnO to MgO being 90:10 to 70:30. It may be prepared by precipitating e.g. Cu molybdate from NH 4 molybdate and CuCO 3 in the presence of the ZnO and MgO, and may contain 3-11wt% of the active compound. It may be used in the 2nd stage desulphurisation of refinery gases to remove thiophenes and thioethers.
