Abstract
1319482 Shovelling machines CESSNA AIRCRAFT CO 8 June 1970 [30 June 1969] 27562/70 Heading E1F [Also in Division F1] A hydraulic control system is such as to permit of control of the related operation of at least a first and a second hydraulic fluid actuated motor. In a preferred use of the system the motors involved are the boomswing, piston cylinder motor(s) 15 and shovelswinging motor(s) 19 and the system in such use permits of automatic retention of the level of the shovel as the boom is at least swung upwards. The system involves a supply of pressurised fluid, a reservoir and control valve means 23 communicating with the supply, the reservoir and the motors. The control valve means has a control element 31 that is shiftable to a position to both direct pressurised fluid to the first motor to actuate same and to direct hydraulic fluid displaced from the first motor as a result of its actuation to a flow divider 44 associated with the control valve means. The control divider directs a predetermined portion of the displaced fluid to the second motor to actuate same in correlation with actuation of the first motor. When such a system is used as described in a shovelling machine there is no longer need to match the motors so that the total volume displaced by the boom motor(s) is equal to that needed to extend the bucket motor(s) the required extent. Preferably a check valve is located between the flow divider and the second motor to prevent reverse flow from the second motor to the control means. A separate control means 26 is provided for the second motor, which means is such that it can override actuation of the second motor by said predetermined portion of displaced fluid. Three preferred embodiments of the system are described in detail.
