Abstract

1319454 Removing dust &c in industrial processes G & E BRADLEY Ltd 10 Sept 1970 [6 Oct 1969] 49046/69 Heading F4X A device (which may be portable, or mounted on or incorporated in a vehicle or machine) for removing particulate rubbish by suction, comprises a rubbish receptacle 12 joined by a concuit 13 (e.g. a flexible tube) to a suction memler 11 in the form of a hand gun in which is disposed the end 18 of a tube 17 for directing a stream of compressed air in the direction towards the conduit 13. Within the member 11 is a core 16 whereby the member operates in the manner of a Venturi pump. The compressed air is controlled at 20 by a handle 21. The member 11 may be made of metal or plastics and as shown has a mouthpiece 14, detachable so that it may be replaced, e.g. by a brush, when required. In another embodiment (Fig. 2) the mouthpiece 14 is omitted and a small-bore tube (23) connected to the compressed air supply projects beyond the end of the member 11 for directing a jet of compressed air into otherwise inaccessible holes to blow out swarf &c. therefrom which is immediately picked up by the suction tube.
