Abstract

1319442 Discharge collecting bags B H CHRISTENSEN and K. G. OSTERGAARD 19 June 1970 [19 June 1969] 31109/69 Heading ASR [Also in Divisions B5 and B8] A bag 2 for collecting body liquids such as urine, comprises an inlet valve 6 shaped as a flat tube tightly connected, for example by welding lines 14 to the upper edge of the bag and extending downwards inside the bag, an opening, such as a hollow stud 4, being provided in the upper edge to receive the end of an inlet conduit, the valve 6 extending at its upper end across the breadth of the bag 2 and tapering downwards to opening 8. The inlet stud 4 may have an enlarged lower end preventing its withdrawal from the bag. In a process for manufacturing such bags, Fig. 3 (not shown), two continuous rolls of thermoplastic sheet are fed through devices which fold, align and weld the sheets, one of which forms the bag and one the inlet valve, and which automatically insert inlet studs 4, the continuous sheets being separated to form separate bags.
