1318923 Electrolytic cell CHEMIEANLAGENBAU LEIPZIG VEB 26 Nov 1970 56311/70 Heading C7B A bipolar electrolytic cell of the filter press type has diaphragms in the form of ion exchange membranes 6 lying in the same plane and clamped in position by bars 8 forming part of a support frame 5 which separates the bipolar electrode carrier 4 from the anode chamber 2. In a modification Fig. 2 (not shown) the electrode carrier 4 is formed integrally with the frame 5. In a further modification Fig.5, (not shown) the frame 5 carries two diaphragms side by side.
