1317737 Coated container HITACHI SHIPBUILDING & ENG Co Ltd 24 Oct 1972 58270/70 Heading B2E [Also in Divisions C3 and F4] A method of insulating containers used at cryogenic temperatures . comprises applying a foamable liquid onto the outer surface of a container wall 1 and allowing it to foam thereby forming a soft first layer 4, placing a sheathing 5 at a predetermined distance therefrom as by moulding frames 2, and foaming in situ a rigid foam second layer between the sheathing and first layer. The rigid foam second layer is a polyurethane foam and an example of the material of the first layer is described.
