1317552 Inverting DEFENCE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR and P MITCHELL 20 July 1970 [21 April 1969] 20133/69 Heading H2F An inductive load HC such as an induction furnace is connected to a static inverter (not shown) via a series capacitor Cs and has an adjustable capacitance C5-Cn connected across the series combination for adjustment of the power factor caused by frequency or load changes. The static inverter may use a pair of thyratrons feeding a centre-tapped transformer or a bridge of four thyristors which may be triggered by an auxiliary transformer T2.
