1316919 Electric incandescent lamps PATENT - TREUHAND - GES FUR ELEKTRISCHE GLUHLAMPEN mbH 22 Dec 1971 [22 Dec 1970] 59669/71 Heading H1F [Also in Division H2] A single-ended halogen incandescent lamp has a fuse element 4 built into its base, wherein one end of fuse element 4 is connected by a metal tube 4<SP>1</SP> to a lead-in wire 3 protruding from the seal 1 of the fused silica lamp bulb and the other end lies inside a bore in a contact pin 10 extending from base 12 where it contacts and is held by resilient fingers 8<SP>1</SP> of a metal cap 8. Molybdenum lead in wire 3 is cold welded to nickel tube 4<SP>1</SP>. The fuse element 4 comprises a ceramic tube 7 in which a constantan coil 5 embedded in quartz sand 6 is disposed. The gap 11 between the fuse element 4 and the inner wall 9 of the pin 10 permits tolerances in the spacing of the lead-in wires from the seal. A thinner, conventional, contact pin may also extend from the ceramic base 12.
