Abstract

1316822 Recirculating exhaust gas NISSAN MOTOR CO Ltd 30 June 1970 [4 July 1969] 31491/70 Heading F1B A crank-case blow-by gas recirculating system comprises a recirculating passage 18 Fig.2 including a valve 20 and leading entirely externally of the engine from the crank-case to the induction passage 16, the valve including a valve spool 20a normally permitting gas flow and valve operating means which moves the valve spool to prevent gas flow at least during deceleration from high speed. When throttle 14 is closed in the idling position a linkage 21 maintains the valve element 20a closed. In another embodiment the position of the throttle is sensed electrically so that in the idling position a solenoid valve (26), Fig.3 (not shown) moves a valve element (20) to a position preventing the return of the crank-case gases to the intake system. In modifications of this embodiment for a lowpressure fuel injection system a speed sensing means (30) prevents closure of valve element (20) until a predetermined engine speed is reached. In another embodiment the valve (20) Fig.4 (not shown) is operated by the intake manifold vacuum.
