Abstract

1316385 Purifying zeolites MOBIL OIL CORP 19 April 1971 [9 April 1970] 25757/71 Heading ClA [Also in Division C5] Organic cations are removed from an organic cation-containing zeolite by heating in an atmosphere comprising steam or ammonia at 500-1000‹ F. for 5 minutes to 24 hours. The cation may be quaternary, e.g. tetrabutyl phosphonium or tetramethyl- or tetrapropyl-ammonium. The zeolite may be ZSM-4, ZSM-11 ZSM-5, ZK-4, ZK-5 or sodalite.
