Abstract

1315860 Bookbinding MAPPEI-ORGANISATIONSMITTEL GmbH 7 Dec 1970 [5 Dec 1969] 57971/70 Heading B6A An adhesive loose-leaf binder in which the free marginal edges of loose-leaves 9 are attached to the spine 3 by means of pressure-sensitive adhesive comprises a pair of covers 1, 2 connected to each other by the spine 3 which is coated with an adhesive 4, the adhesive being overlaid by a further layer of pressure-sensitive adhesive 8 such that a free edge 10<SP>1</SP> of a protective sheet 10 may be associated with the adhesives at their interface. The protective sheet prevents the adhesion of the upper face of the topmost sheets to the exposed layer of adhesive 8 as the preceding sheets are removed from the binder. In another embodiment the protective sheet 10 is dispensed with (Fig. 5), and in a further embodiment the protective sheet 10 which is coated with a release agent (12, Fig. 10), is attached directly to the adhesive 4 adjacent the front cover 1.
