Abstract

1315697 Coenzyme B 12 CHINOIN GYOGYSZER-ES VEGYESZETI TERMEKEK GYARA RT 18 Sept 1970 [19 Sept 1969] 44677/70 Heading C2V In a process for preparing coenzyme B 12 from a biomass obtained by fermenting corrinoidproducing bacteria, the biomass is heated at 90‹ to 110‹ C. for from 2 seconds to 2 minutes in the dark, to relase coenzyme B 12 into an aqueous medium, impurities are adsorbed on the biomass by lowering the pH to an acid value, e.g. 3 to 4, and then raising the pH to 5 to 7, the biomass and adsorbed impurities are removed, e.g. by filtration, and coenzyme B 12 is separated from other corrinoid material by frontal adsorption chromatography, the coenzyme B 12 being eluted from adsorbent which has been separated from adsorbent containing the other corrmoides. Examples are given.
