Abstract
1,254,358. Dextranase. MERCK & CO. Inc. 28 Oct., 1969 [29 Oct., 1968], No. 52778/69. Heading C3H. A method of recovering purified dextranase from a crude solution comprises adding an ionexchange cellulose to the solution, adjusting the pH to separate the impurities and dextranase by selective adsorption, and separating and recovering the dextranase from the solution or the ion-exchange cellulose as the case may be. The dextranase may have been produced by the growth of Penicillium funiculosum; the culture broth may have been concentrated or the dextranase precipitated by ammonium sulphate before the ion-exchange process. The ionexchange cellulose may be a DEAR-cellulose.
